Review on the C-E Translation of Chinese Abstract Based on the CNKI

| Abstract: | In order to understand the research status, writing problems and relevant strategies of English abstract of Chinese journals, this thesis takes English abstract as research object and CNKI database as the data source for collecting the related papers form core journals (including PKU and CSSCI) in 1993-2000 through literature data method. Meanwhile, through statistical and classified method, this thesis analyse the collected articles. The results shows as the following: (1) the research status: based on CNKI database, the research results of English abstract are remarkable, but the number of published papers revels a wavy downward trend, which shows the research scope of English abstract needs to be further expanded and the research content needs to be further explored; the related journals are various, taking medical, publishing and editing journals as the main kinds, which shows the current research field is mainly related to the publishing industry, so the research field needs to be further expanded; the research corpus is diversified, taking medical corpus as the main, which shows the current research corpus is simple and needs to be diversified; (2) writing problems: the writing problems of English abstract refer to the text aspects, such as morphology, syntax, grammar, voice, text and structure, etc; (3) strategies: the strategies can be studied from objective aspect (translation skills) and subjective aspect (writer, editor and related tools). Finally, this thesis proposes some suggestions about research field, research method and research content of Chinese journals of English abstract. |
